Rodolfo Brenes Vargas
Rodolfo specializes in Litigation, Criminal Law and Defense, Communications Law, and is the Regional Head of Anti-Corruption & Investigations Practice. He provides strategic legal advice and representation in complex criminal, regulatory, and litigation matters.
Born in San José, Costa Rica, Rodolfo was admitted to practice in Costa Rica in 1999. He holds a Licentiate in Law from the University of Costa Rica, and advanced degrees from Panthéon-Sorbonne University (Paris I), where he earned a PhD in Juridical Sciences with highest honors. He also holds a Master’s degree in Communications Law and a Master’s degree in Criminal Law and Criminal Policy, both from Panthéon-Assas University (Paris II), with honors and highest GPA.
Rodolfo is an accomplished author and has published extensively on topics such as freedom of expression, criminal law, and human rights in international legal journals. His scholarly work includes several doctoral theses and articles featured in prominent legal publications.
Additionally, has published many opinion articles in newspapers and radio editorial programs and has participated as a speaker in congresses in Costa Rica and France.
