Born in Managua, Nicaragua, she was admitted to practice law in Nicaragua in 2002. Thelma graduated Cum Laude from American University in Nicaragua (Licentiate in Law, 2000), and went on to earn an LL.M. from Harvard Law School in 2002, focusing on International Finance. Her experience includes roles at Cooperación & Asistencia Financiera, S.A. as In-House Counsel, and as a legal assistant at Bonn Schmitt Steichen in Luxembourg.

Thelma is a prominent figure in the legal community, providing strategic legal counsel to both local and international clients on complex legal matters across various sectors.
